As per the History chai (Tea) was introduced by Britishers in the early 19th century , and started popularizing it by setting up Tea Stalls at railway stations .
The journey of Chai is quite long to Build a place in the Indian household , but Eventually the Craze for Tea became such that “It is the first thing people crave for in the morning”.
Though there are many version of chai , such as “masala chai” that includes cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, Ginger as part of the ingredient , ” Adrak chai “(Ginger Tea) where the milk tea is fused with crushed Ginger . “Black tea ” that can be made using lemon , honey ,ginger and mint leaves.
This Blog is dedicated to our All Time favorite Kadak chai .
Ingridients for 2 Cups Kadak chai .
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup milk
- Tea powder
- sugar
- Ginger/Cardamom/cinnamon (optional)
preparation:
Step-1 : Add One cup water in a saucepan. and give it a boil till the bubbles come.
Right after that if you want you can add Ginger (for Adrak chai), with ginger you can add Cardamom, cinnamon, clove (for Masala Chai). because following process would be the same .
I like the Simple Kadak chai , so i will Stick to that.
step-2 : Add 3/4th tbsp (2 nos) of Tea leaves/powder , since we want to make it strong , this much of tea Dust will do.
step-3 : Give it a boil till the color turns Dark red , it will hardly take 30 seconds.
step-4 : now Add 1 cup milk to it .
step-5: keep the gas on high flame and let the Milk fuse In this process with the black tea we prepared.
step-6: Wait for another 1 min and its done .
Quickly Strain the tea and Enjoy !!!
