White Chicken Pulao Also known as safed chicken Pulao is believed to be invented in “persia” Currently known as Iran . In India Pulao was popularised by Mughals , Infact Pulao was considered to be a Royal dining often prepared during festivals and celebrations . Pulao was made out of different meats, but most popular among all was chicken and mutton . White Chicken Pulao is a fragrant and flavorful dish that brings together tender chicken, aromatic spices, and fragrant basmati rice in a luscious white gravy. This royal delicacy, rooted in Mughlai and Awadhi cuisine, is known for its creamy texture and subtle yet rich flavors.
And Trust me this is Going to be your Substitute for Regular Chicken Biriyani .

Ingridients:
- 4-5 elaichi (cardamom)
- 1.3 inch cinnamon (dalchini)
- 1 star anise
- 4-5 laung (cloves)
- 2 Dry Kashmiri chilly or Red chilly
- 2 Bay leaf
Now Grind all these whole Garam masalas and make a fine powder out of it .
- 4 Medium sized Onion
- 12 Garlic cloves
- 1.5 inch Ginger
- 2 potatoes
- 3 Green Chilly (if you want it spicy)
crush the ginger and garlic using a mortar and pestle or simply grind and make a paste.
Slice the onions and Cut the potatoes into 2 halves.
- Dahi (yoghurt)- 250 gms
- chicken 600 gms
- Rice – 250 gms
whisk the curd for a bit.
Cut the chicken into Big pieces and wash it properly .
Soak the rice in water.
- 3 tbsp ghee
- 3 tbsp oil
- jeera half spoon
Preparation:
For this Recipe you will only need a pressure cooker .
Step-1: Add Ghee and oil to the cooker , let it heat and put half spoon jeera into it.
step-2: Add onion and green chilly and shallow fry the onion till it becomes soft and changes color.
Step-3 : Add the Ginger , Garlic paste and sauté it for 2 minutes.
Step -4 : Add chicken and The powder masala we prepared. and mix it well.
step-5 : Cover the lid and give 2 whistles add little water if needed .
step-6 : Open the lid , add potatoes , Soaked rice and Dahi .
Do not forget to Add Salt .
step-7 : Mix it well , add Some fresh dhania if available ,Cover the Lid and give it 4 whistles .
And its Done .
wait till it cools down a bit & Enjoy with raita of your choice.
